I hope you’re having an AMAZING morning so far, and that you’re looking forward to that hard-earned, well-deserved break you scheduled (or maybe already even took)! Now that you've scheduled physical rest, let’s get into the nitty gritty and schedule something you might just need even more… A mental decompression session.👀
When your mind is overloaded with thoughts, texts, emails, notifications, pop ups & endless tasks on the to do list you will 1000% shut down. You can’t be productive OR present if you’re in autopilot, and your professional life should be something fulfilling that you enjoy, not a burden to carry.
Taking the time to breathe and focus on yourself and your mental, develop systems, and eliminate distractions, reaps mind, body, and soul benefits.
You DESERVE ALL OF THEM.🫶
I have a tragic past, but more importantly an even more beautiful present. You see, MIND over MATTER is pretty much the motto I've lived by for over 4 years now. In 2017 I almost lost my life, came within minutes of taking my last breath, and became a widow all in the same instant.
Through my mindset, my sheer will to live, and by the grace of God I survived and am here living the life of my dreams, ready to show you how to overcome and do the same. Follow along with me babe, it’s time to RESET.
✨Let’s DECLUTTER YOUR MIND together✨
At some point in time today (right now if you can), I want you to take a piece of paper and follow the below exercise. It can be in your favorite journal, or even in the notes app of your phone. Just take the time.
- Make a column of your stressors. Write them all out. What’s overwhelming you? What are you struggling with? It doesn’t even necessarily have to be work related, we’re talking full scale here.
- Now make a column of the things that bring you joy and peace. This can be in all aspects of your life as well, just things that calm your mind and give you the space to be your happiest, most content self.
- Now look at each of these columns and below them, let’s start to work through some strategies to declutter your mind and get you some relief!😅 What can you do to prevent or change the situations causing you stress? How can you incorporate more of what clams and brings you joy into your everyday (and especially your professional) life?
This is what I call a brain dump. I do them alllll the time, and actually have a notebook right by my bedside for them at the end of the day, and let me tell you, they have CHANGED MY LIFE.
That negative sh*t needs to come out, or it’ll eat you alive, and that’s usually where people’s brain dumps stop, but acknowledge the positive too!! By playing to your strengths, you can push through any challenge.🥰
If you’re someone with a high stress level (I know most of us are), I recommend incorporating something like this daily, or as often as you need to help you have a clutter free, calm state of mind that’s focused on the positives, with the insight to creatively problem solve your way through the negatives.
