I'm Rachel, salon owner, business coach, mom, and wife, based out of Houston!

I’ve been in the salon owner game for about a decade now, and WOW it has been a ride... I started out with quite literally no idea what I was doing at all, in a neon green and black suite, scraping by trying to make $300 a week to afford my bills.

What I lacked in knowledge, I did make up for in passion though. I busted my ass, and I made ends meet, but it burnt. me. out.

Only once I hit rock bottom - exhausted, unappreciated, and completely tapped out - did I turn externally for some good old fashioned business education, aaaaand 8 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars later, here I am!

Don’t be fooled into thinking that part was easy either though. The courses I took were more often than not boring, difficult to understand (helloooo Dictionary.com🙃), and completely inapplicable to the beauty industry, BUT after years of reviewing the material, countless sleepless nights spent working on my salon after hours, and quite a few tears, it synthesized into what I have now: a beautifully complex understanding of exactly how salons function as businesses, and how to build them from the ground up into multi-million dollar entities.

That’s right. Multi MILLION. With all I’ve learned and applied, I’ve managed to generate over $8.5 million in revenue through my salon, and I couldn't be more grateful. Or relieved.🤑

At a certain point, my salon owner friends started turning to me for help, and referring their friends my way, and my dm’s were overflowing with questions, requests for advice, and sympathetic perspectives from other kickass women going through the exact same struggles I was. 

Right then and there, Babes in Business was born.

It’s common to be stingy with your secrets to success, and I understand where those people are coming from, but the magic of the beauty industry is there’s never-ending demand, and MORE than enough heads of hair to go around, so we lose NOTHING by elevating others.
